What You Must Know

You’re going to fear which choices to make, but you’ll find freedom knowing there was never the wrong one. You will learn that the things that transform you the most will come without needing to be sought. That the tighter you grasp, the less you’ll have, and the more you attempt to understand on your own, the less you’ll know.

You will learn that the entirety of life’s complexities and the war within it is not meant to be solved on the weight of your shoulders alone, but to be felt and acted upon. Experienced. Observed. Then, a learning of what – and who – are worth suffering for. A recognition of your gifts and the expression of them. It was never about what you felt you needed to do in the end, but who you became in the process. You will learn that the things you dream about are not by random – the throughline is most visible when you look back. You will find peace when you discern your thirst from the world’s. You’re going to slow dance with your shadows, but fall in love with dancing in the light. You will be acquainted with pain, but will grow closest to faith. You will find you feel strongest in movement and closest to yourself in stillness. In the quiet.  

And when you come to know love – 

You will find it in the walls coming down in the beginning. In the safety met while letting the unbearable corners of your mind be held. That it is never to be regretted showing at any given point. It is being heartbroken when they’re heartbroken. It’s in wishing you can show them just how much magic they’ve brought into your life and the inability to express it.

It’s making up stories for entertainment in the delirium of a long hike. The walk back from sprinting to catch a sunrise. The look they give you as the credits roll on their favorite film, waiting for your reaction. It's laughing in sync until you can’t breathe. It’s the safety you feel to fully express every ounce of your authentic self – weird obsessions and all. It's found in timeless conversation. It's noticing the way the sunbeams shine through the clouds on the way to the grocery store. Chopping fruit in the kitchen. A quiet drive home after a day spent in the water. Hearing the inflection of their voice change when they’re talking about their favorite artist at the moment. The eye contact made the second you hear a song you both love playing in the background. It’s in time as it moves fast on a trip, and slow as you sip wine, noticing the colors and textures in the room. 

But most importantly, you must know that you are worthy of every dream you’ve ever dreamt. Of love that is experienced in every facet around you. Of desires that won’t let go of you because they were never random to begin with.

Time will continue to pass and fear will fade. But what stays is your knowing, your embodied intuition bursting to be expressed. Please remember that nothing you deeply desire will pass you by. 

It’s all still here. And it’s waiting for you.
